ABOUT THE ALBUM

Most people don’t get the opportunity to make an album; it’s expensive, takes time to write, and it’s hard to connect with the right people. It’s also just emotionally and physically taxing – it takes sacrifices. You opt for long days in the studio instead of meeting up with your friends. You work a part-time job for a year because you want to afford working with the producers you've always dreamed of working with. You refuse to cut yourself slack on the long days because you worry you’ll fall behind.

I wrote this album because it was time to pivot. I was going through the changes of moving to a new city, making new friends, falling in love with the same people over and over again, and rediscovering what it is to be me. My fans are what guided this process - I discovered they were yearning for something that felt like a slumber party with your best friends, a night out in WEHO, and a stroll around the park on the phone with your best friend to cry about some guy that dumped you.

This album is everything I am.

A VOICE OF

Authenticity and Empowerment

Gina Zo, a powerhouse vocalist from the suburbs of Philadelphia and now making her mark in Los Angeles, is not just a rock-pop singer-songwriter—she's a beacon of authenticity and empowerment. With her bold declaration of bisexuality in her 2023 anthem “Faking It,” Gina transforms her personal journey into a powerful narrative for the LGBTQIA+ community, showcasing that true identity is a form of rebellion against conformity.

Influenced by artists like Norah Jones and Stevie Nicks, Gina's musical roots run deep. Her childhood was filled with family moments spent dancing with flashlights and singing into makeshift microphones, igniting a passion that would shape her future. As a teen, she signed with an indie label in Philadelphia, where she confronted the industry's darker realities. After stepping away, she felt a strong pull back to music following a personal breakup, leading her to reclaim her identity and reignite her artistic journey.

Gina's latest work is a visceral exploration of her soul, featuring raw and unapologetic emotions. Produced by acclaimed names like Brian McTear and Amy Morrissey, her music captures the essence of early 2000s rock while addressing the struggles of self-discovery.

Beyond her music, Gina is a champion for young artists and advocates for systemic change in the industry. Her 2023 Grammy dress, designed by Lauren Schuler, exemplifies her fusion of elegance and rebellion, making a powerful statement.

As she prepares to release her next record with Grammy-winning producers Justin Miller and Tim Sonnefeld, Gina continues to delve into themes of love, identity, and perseverance. In her downtime, she enjoys cooking, exploring Silver Lake Reservoir, and immersing herself in murder novels (she assures us she’s not plotting any revenge!).

For Gina Zo, music is more than a career—it's a platform to inspire young women to embrace their true selves and reject any confines placed on their identity, sexuality, and aspirations. With her fearless artistry and unbreakable spirit, Gina Zo is leading a revolution in the world of pop-rock music, rewriting the rules and inspiring a new generation to be unapologetically themselves.
